Large-Format Outing
Last weekend, I joined the large-format (L.F) film guys for an outing to Keong Saik Street, Singapore. I feel that shooting 4” by 5” (or larger) is the truest expression of love for the medium. When it comes to L.F, there is startling absence of shortcuts and automation. Shooting L.F constitutes a willingness to dive into the deep-end and to embrace the medium’s many limitations....

Religiously Spiritual
A recent project that I am handling revolves heavily around the idea of religiosity versus spirituality. I found myself greatly intrigued by the prospect of delineating religion from spirituality. Cardboard Cash
An ongoing short series on cardboard collectors in Singapore. I met these lovely ladies at different spots whilst wandering in Tanjong Pagar. They were all rushing to collate and compact the cardboard boxes in time for collection at a nearby recycling point. That is when they get paid for their efforts - according to one of them a day’s work translates to around three to five dollars. Despite the...

Circumventing Circuses
It was a peaceful protest, but the air was still charged and the police very visible. As the very eloquent Tankian once said, you can’t afford to be neutral on a moving train.
